Campsite Description: Overlooking vast stretches of South Tyneside’s award winning sandy beaches this tranquil, sloping grassy site offers spectacular views over Marsden Bay with it’s beautiful scenic cliff top walks.
Lizard Lane Caravan Park offer pitches for static caravans, tourers and tents. There are washing and drying facilities, full gas service and shower and toilet facilities with hairdryers and shavers. Pets are allowed but must be kept under control. The site has recently been taken over by new owners and has an AA three penant award.
Description of Area: The local farm shop and café close by supplies the essentials with a fantastic range of home made products, however the site is situated less than five minutes drive or twenty five minutes walk from South Shields town centre where a large selection of shops, restaurants, seaside entertainment and bars can be found.
Local attractions include the Pleasure Beach, South Shields Museum and Art Gallery, the Souter Lighthouse, North Lizard Riding School, Arbeia Roman Fort and Marsden Rock with it’s resident seabird colonies and Smugglers Bar in the caves at beach level. Or why not catch the ferry to North Shields world famous fish quay.
