Campsite Description: Drove Lea Farm is a quiet, family run, caravan and camping facility, which nestles in the beautiful Meon Valley, within the newly appointed conservation area of Titchfield Abbey, just to the north of the picturesque village of Titchfield.
Drove Lea is situated in 8 acres of level and part wooded farmland that is dedicated to camping and is open from the 1st of February until the 30th of November. The site has electric hook ups available and the usual fresh water and waste disposal facilities. Local produce and fresh eggs are available from a neighboring farm.
Countryside Camping is exactly that; no club houses, toilet blocks, shower blocks, restaurants or discos. All caravans and camping units will require their own toilet and washing facilities. The site is well maintained and kept clean.
Facilities available are water, elsan disposal and electricity. We currently have 40 card fed meter hook-up points dispersed around the site, in order to ensure that all campers have a significant amount of space if required. Ambience is available in abundance.
Dogs, and their owners are welcome, however we do ask that they are kept under control and any "accidents", cleaned up.
Real ale and real food are available from the Fishermans Rest: fresh eggs and local produce are available from the farm shop opposite the Fishermans Rest
Description of Area: Within walking distance is historic Titchfield Abbey, fishing lakes, a well-stocked garden centre and finally, the charming village of Titchfield.
From the seventh century St. Peter’s Church in Titchfield, a walk of approximately four miles will take you along the banks of the river Meon to the coast at Meon Shore, passing Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve. |
Directions: Drove Lea is ideal for a quite country break or a stopover for the continent, with quick and easy access to the M27; both the ports of Portsmouth and Southampton are only 20 minutes drive.
